Rentec rack

Hi

Can anyone tell me which model of rentec rack will fit an 03 speed triple. According to Rentec they don't make one for the triple, but I presume the Daytona one will fit. However, Rentec list the Daytona rack as being for 01-03. Will this fit???

I queried this with Rentec but they were about as useful as a chocolate teapot!!!!

Thanks

Had the same problem a couple of weeks ago and no it does not fit. The only one I could find in the UK that does is the Triumph one. This comes with another seat as a rack or grabrail cant be fitted without chopping lumps out of the standard one.

See here-

Thanks for the responses.

Re the official triumph item - I begrudge giving Triumph that amount of money for a tiny next to useless rack.

The Ventura item is very nice but:
a: far too much for what I need
b: Expensive (though you do get your moneysworth)

If my only option is the official triumph rack then I may approach a mate who is a metalworker to see if he can knock up a rentec style rack for me.

A couple of options -

If you can get a secondhand renntec for the daytona or speedy from a breaker or e-bay (there were a few kicking around a couple of weeks ago) it would be easy enough for your mate to chop the mountings off and make up new ones. A bit of trimming of the seat pan would probably still be needed.

Although the 02 onwards speed triple and late daytona seat unit and seat look the same when you lift the seat you can see there are a couple of small differences that prevent the daytona or pre 02 speed triple rack being a straight bolt on. A couple of sections would need cut out of the tail unit and the same with the lip of the seat pan and the seat supports and a change to the rear mount of the rack should do it.

The mountings on the renntec look like this, might help-
