Secondary Air Injection SAI Blockoff Plates
While doing routine maintenance on my s3 1050 i noticed how large the SAI unit on the bike is. Also its located right in between both air intake snorkels to the airbox. Did some searching and cant find where I can buy the SAI blockoff plates. Looking at it I would have to think the SAI units positios has to be affecting airflow into the airbox. Even if its a minute amount I want it gone! Any help in finding them will be greatly appreciated. I also have the Arrow 3-1 race exhaust and access to get the non- SAI tune.

Bumped this thread cos I could do with some too. Bike running much sweeter now with Arrow map and the SAI blocked off at the airbox so think I'd like to just remove the whole lot.
Will probably run even better if my new K&N ever turns up.but that's another story.

you can rotate the snorkels. so the other is facing up and the other is pointing more down, then the sai block thing is not it the way. or turn both down.

How much would an average machine shop cost to mill something like that?

Can someone give me the run-down on what removing the SAI would gain someone? I've done a bit of reearch, but am still not clear what purpose the SAI have and what removing would change.

No popping on overrun, cooler exhaust header, less clutter under tank during maintenance.
No performance benefit SAI or non-SAI.

Purpose of SAI is to burn uncombusted leftover fuel in exhaust header. SAI is just a simple solenoid that allows clean air to pass to exhaust header for this purpose. On most revs SAI is closed - open on closed/very small throttle openings only.

Burning fuel leftovers will aid in passing emission laws.

Note: Once unhooked you will most likely get a check engine light. This can easily be reset by a dealer.
