Pit Bull

Does anyone know the proper Pit Bull stand part for the spindle for the 1050?

I picked up a stand and the left side (relative to the bike) works fine. The right one is too big. It will go in about 3/4 inch and stop.

Hep me peez-

Thanks both,
It looks identical to the one I have. TR does not fit on the right side...

Hmmm.

My Triumph rear axle inner diameter tapers?

they didn't change it did they?

I worked at a shop that sold Triumphs and Ducs. The Duc 1098 had a certian sized spindle that fit the year wheel and out of no where they changed it. They didn't send out a memo to dealers or anything. I was building a a new one which involves pulling a complete side fairing to put in the battery, and the **** thing wouldn't fit. We had to call other dealer to confirm and sure enough, it had changed without a word of warning!

What year is your bike? Heard of anyone else with this problem?

Check the wire circlip on the axle nut. One side goes into hole in axle to keep the ring in place. If this is little too long (was on mine) it will protrude to the inside of the axle and will prevent pin from going in.
If that's the case, diagonal cutters will cure it.

It may not be the spindle. Look inside the axle opening. Many people have found a buildup of cosmoline. Once it's cleaned out, the spindle should fit.
It's not an uncommon problem.

Thanks all.

I did find that the circlip was draging and marring the finish on the spindle (gasp!). Otherwise, I could pull it back and it would continue in the inch or so.

The bike is a 2007 purchased in July.

I thought that I had gotten most of the cosmoline off of the machine, I will give the center of the axle a good scrubbing.

OK,

No cosmoline in the axle spindle. I did find that about 1 inch inside the inner diameter bulges to a rise of about 1/8 inch. It doesn't appear uniform.

Ideas?

I just purchased the reversible stand for my 06 triple. Had the same problem the TR pin was too big. I contacted Pit Bull directly and they informed me that there was overspray in a lot of the triple axles. Not believing him of course I took my bike and the TR pin back to the shop I got the stand at. Their mechanic actually removed a lot of what looked like paint or powdercoat. The pin fits fine now. The tech at Pit Bull did tell me if I was unable to get the TR pin to fit that they do have an undersized pin made for our bikes because it was a common enough problem. If you can't get it call Pit.
