Triumph Arrow 3 into 1 full system vs. Twin Canister slip ons

Guys,

Must have too much time on my hands, but am curious about this:

I know that the Triumph Arrow 3 into 1 is a full system with header pipes as it is what I run on my Speed 3. It is apparently "not road legal" which means it doesn't conform to the 80db noise limit or whatever may apply these days. It retails for approx $1200.

The Triumph Arrow twin canister system costs approx $1000 and is road legal. What gives? Are header pipes that much more expensive than a second can? It doesn't really matter to me from a cost standpoint as I like my 3 into 1, but am curious because I'd have bet the farm that a twin can system would have cost more. Must be that header pipes cost more to make than a canister. Hmmm?

Karl

Yes, they are titanium. As for the price difference I have no clue why

the 3-1 is a full system; header and canister. The other are slip-ons. Thats why they are cheaper.

I wouldn't worry about the db's has most HD are way louder.

just right

I'm a db sensitive guy...my other bike is BMW. I've got the Arrow 3-1 setup on my S3, and I too, was a little worried that it might be too much for the neighbors. My fears went away as soon as I got it. It certainly opens it up a bit, but not obnoxious at all.

I run a uncorked Mivv...the 3 in to 1 system is much, much quieter.
