Colour question

I'm a proud owner of a steam powered speed triple. Since 1996, I have not had the "I have to have one of those" moments, until yesterday. I had no idea there was a matt black option. Is it available stateside?

I don't know. It was limited last year, but may be a regular option coming soon.

As Goffe said, it was a limited production run last year, and I have heard from a friend at a Triumph dealer that they will be doing the same with the 2008 bike.

I recommend the matt black finish, really easy to maintain and it looks awesome.

The Matte finish does not cut through the atmosphere like a standard high gloss finish. If you want a Speed that is approximately 12% slower because of the coefficient of drag then go for it!

That's ok. I ride in a full rubber gimp suit that yields a positive 15%. That will give me a net 3% gain. I have no idea why Rossi and Stoner do not use them..........

Sadly enough, it doesn't look like it's avail in the US. I did call my dealer and put in the request just minuets ago (have a dep down on a black one already) and he didn't seem to know anything about it, not surprising. It's not in the "news" section of the US Triumph site, although on the UK side..... bummer.
