I tried it and love it

I will probably get pooh - poohed for this but I went ahead and order up one of the GMAX 68S helmets. Less than 125. USD from Motorcycle-Superstore. Has LED lights in the back and figured why not lets see what webBikeWorld was talking about when they gave it the Helmet of the Year Award.

Quite Frankly I doubt I will be getting another brand. The Helmet fits better than my Shark and feels allot more in touch with my head. Cradling it more. The visor is well better. Clear view. No distortions at the peripherals.... very nice. I rode it into work this morning with 20-25mph cross winds at about 75-85 mph. The head shake I was accustom to with the Shark were gone.

I was surprised. Other things I noted was the lens did not readily fog up as I assume the ventilation is better and the LEDs while the may seem toy'ish I am growing to appreciate. Anything to make me more visible to Starbuck, cellphone talking cagers is a +1 for me.

Try it for yourself heck 125.00 is worth just having a spare around. Sizing was true to Centimeter measurements as well. As I had to purchase online based on the centimeter measurement and could not try one on before I ordered.

Very pleased. Only downside is it doesn't say Shoei, Shark, Simpson, or Arai. Other than that 0 regrets. I love it

Finish I purchased was the stealth flat black. No graphics. I looks real nice. But I can not speak on the quality of paint job as I prefer no graphics

Arai Quantum series. Been using them for years. Around 80mph+ you get alittle push but that will happen with any helmet. For me they are most comfy helmets. I've had 3 of them. Before that I had a Shoei RF900 I think, it was okay, but not Arai good. You really need to just try on a bunch and find what fits your head on your budget. If you get a headache after a few minutes its too tight. I find that after fitting if you move it around only your cheeks should move slightly. Once you try on a few you'll see what a mean. Not too tight or too loose.

Do you mean at somewhat higher speeds your head likes to jut back and forth(when on the tank)? If that is the case, I believe wearing a jacket with a "hump" on the back should fix it....

There are many different shaped heads. A helmet that fits one person well, might not be so great for the next.

Go into a store, and try on several different brands and models, and see which is comfortable for you.

First make sure you aren't wearing a loose fitting jacket that is puffing up with wind and contacting your helmet at high speed.

Next: make a post with a little more info

I wear a backpack (about 15 liter capacity) things are peachy on the tank at high speed, but at sane speeds while sitting up in the wind I find my helmet "feels" unstable. I've seen some helmets with little spoilers on them and can't help but want to try one and see if it makes me feel less like one of those bobblehead things...

My X-Lite 801R is very stable - but I bought it because no other helmet fits my head as closely (I was a Shoei owner for many years before buying the X-lite).

I think that fit is the most important thing to consider. It must be snug around the head and cheeks. Too tight and you get a pain in the head. With some helmets a person can change pads for a custom fit. What works for me may not work for you as far as brands go. Living in Fl. I need a helmet that is cool and the Shoei X-11 is the one for me.
