under the airbox.....

i need to access the area underneath the gas tank and airbox. gas tank is off but airbox looks like a pain in the -ss. is there a way to get to that area without lifting the airbox. reason is the connectors to the turn signals are there and i want to change them
thanks.

No need to do that.. put your tank back on.
Just take of the transparent plastic from the blinker, unhook the wires, and pull them out, that's it.

regards!
D.

OK, that s another thing, if you want to use the existing plugs to connect the turn signals.

You might as well take your airbox off it's really easy, Undo all the Phillips heads screws pull the top off your box..( After you have disconnected all the hoses and sensors and taking note of how they go back on) Then just pull the bottom part of the airbox off easy. Now you know how to do it you can access your plugs and coils in case you need to, S3's are notorious for getting water down the plug wells and corroding plugs, If you can access your plugs you don't have to pay zillions of bucks for a shop to do it.

I forgot to mention to you in response to your other tread about the flush mount turn signals. Watsen LED's. They are set up nice and tidy with factory connectors and all but they screw it up by giving you those "little white bricks" to add resistance. I left mine off. It blinked too fast for my liking so I got a replacement flasher with resistor built in. Then I didn't have to jack with hiding and securing those included resistors. The aftermarket flasher/resistor replaces the stock under seat flasher and works as one plug in unit for all 4 signals instead of puting a separate resistor for each turn signal. Cost is less than 30 bucks. There's also a company that sells a plug-in flasher replacment that has a "you set" canceling function. It's pricy at 10 bucks.

The gas tank is harder to take off than the airbox! Certainly harder to put back on. The airbox is a snap. Its a lot of bolts, but they're a piece of cake. Also, my Watsens had a resistor wire built in...

No need to split airbox to remove it on 1050s. Undo two bolts at the rear af airbox and lift back of airbox up & towards seat. Installation is easy once you have seen what is under the box and how everything goes together.
