My bike was just out of the crate brand new, never even sat on it and the delivery was delayed a week due to a fouled injector. I understand, I was SUPER raging pissed off, no confidence in my new bike, especially coming from Honda.
Well they sorted it out and almost a year later I can honestly tell you I can't POSSIBLY be any happier.........no way no how. I press the start button many times per day and it always fires up.
Not sure why you would twist the throttle before starting it? What made you do THAT?
Secondly, sounds like you may have gotten a crap battery from the get go. Just because it was charged doesn't mean it was good enough to crank over the bike and cause ignition. A "dead" battery can still turn it over but not be able to cause ignition.
Holy crap just calm down. lol take a pill, there will be MANY nice days to come. These bikes are shipped accross an ocean in a crate, sometimes they don't go together PERFECTLY with bugs that can only we worked out as they creep up after a few uses.

I didn't twist the throttle until I thought it was about to start, this was after cranking a couple different attempts so there was already a problem. Don't assume I'm that stupid please. You are right though, I had a firm word with the dealer today and will give them an opportunity to make it right, and just hope I can get some seat time without crap like this happening again anytime soon.

Not too sure where I seen it now but there is an owners manual floating around the net somewhere able to be downloaded in PDF format.

I've had two of them and vouch for their reliability (and I'm pretty hard on it). I completely understand your frustration, spend that much $ on a BRAND NEW anything, and you expect it to work!
Must admit though I struggle to pin the entire blame on twisting the throttle before it fired up. If that semi-permanently flooded to the degree you're experiencing, the streets would be littered with dead S3's. I've had mine lying on its side, kinda downhill slightly, completely flooded and still had less trouble starting it than you're experiencing. I don't doubt that it may have been a factor though.
If I had a hill nearby I'd try clutching it (reasonably easy in third). Like I said I completely understand your frustration but I'll bet its only something minor at the root of this problem.

Exactly I will go on just that and hope they iron out any issues, so i can enjoy a riding season........I will ask the dealer to show me how to remove the seat, just one of those things anyone should know esp. since the battery is under it...

Jay, maybe I missed it, but if your bike has 90 miles on it, I guess it is new. Being new, they owed you an owner's manual and a customer familiarization walk through to demonstrate things such as seat removal, adjustments, oil check procedure, start procedure, etc. You could consider asking them to do that when you take it in.

The owner's manual is under the seat, which Jay said he was unable to get off.
Jay, push down on the back of the seat while you turn the key, and you should be able to get it off. They're tight the first few times you try to remove it.

Not sure I understand.....there are 2 allen keys on the side of the seat that appear to be "dummies." What are those for? Do you mean the actual key? If so.....That's dumb, if the battery is dead, how would that work? Please elaborate, thanks BTW the dealer said the bike was ready and that the plugs were fouled......I told them not so fast, take your time and get to the root of the problem and recheck and recharge the battery after cranking.....the service dept. didn't seem to have a firm understanding of my problems, but hopefully they sort it all out and put a little extra effort into it.....I really don't even want it back until it's right, the weather is crappy this week anyhow, we already had the only nice day we were going to have this week

Yes the ignition key "opens" or unlocks the seat. But NOT by putting it in the actual ignition switch. There is another "Keyhole" under the seat, a bit hard to see. You have to realy look for it the first time.
As some of the other guys have mentioned it can be a bit...fiddly, untill you're used to it. The BACK of the seat pops up first, but you have to push down on it at the same time as turning the key to get it to release.
