I aint one for rumors, but...

I was reading the 'Euro gossip' report on motorcycle-usa.com and yet again, the whispers of rumors of sales by guess who? Again, just whispers of whispers but man why are there any rumors at all?

look see: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Articl...ID=5975&Page=2

I found something even more interesting on the next page. Fascinating!

And apparently, the Roulette Green color is is why Harley is interested. :

The article about the frog says "A man from Thailand claims that his frog loves to ride a toy Harley-Davidson" but if you look carefuly, you can see the cotton thread he has used to tie the poor thing to the bike. You just can`t help wondering what sort of a bloke spends his day tying a frog to a toy motorbike and taking pictures of it...

There are always rumors, especially in the "euro gossip" section. Wouldn't have much of an article if there were no rumors...

Metaphorically speaking, that's no different than what most Harley riders do to their bikes. :

Pretty far flung rumor. HD had to shut down their factories for a week in December due to lack of sales. I don't think they're exactly rolling in buyout capital...

07 was a bad year for HOG. Their annual revenue was down slightly from 06. They had a good 2nd quarter on 07 but the rest of the year was poor.

While 07 was a bit soft, you can't scoff at their $9.5B market cap. Some smaller companies than that have worse years and still have enough cash on hand to make big acquisitions. And as bad as HOG had it, some of the smaller manufacturers had it much worse. I wouldn't doubt for a minute that Harley-Davidson was in a good position to acquire one or more smaller motorcycle manufacturers right now. Though I'm not sure it would make sense for them to try to dilute the market for Harley Davidsons.

It wouldn't make any sense for Harley to buy out Triumph. They would gain nothing from the venture. I also don't see Bloor selling out now that Triumph is finally starting to see major revenue increases. Harley has Buell so why would they be interested in Triumph?

Its not the bikes that Harley makes, its not the culture, its Harley's **** marketing group. Those guys could sell a turd wraped in plastic, call it a candy bar, and it would sell like crazy.
