- soft front rim dents easily

The only problem I have ever had with mine was the fuel level sensor...

as for the "soft front rim" I would have to disargee.. I wheelie all the time.. and I am not talking little up and down wheelies.. I am talking 2nd and 3rd gear stand ups going down the highway for a mile at a time.... and I have NEVER had any problems with my Speed Triple's front rim or my RS's front rim... just my two cents

what problem did you have?

mine's just gone, lights on all the time now, filling up every 100 miles just to be on the safe side, don't want to be pushing it

did you get your one solved?

Cheers Mark.

Mine was still under warranty so the dealership put a new one in. The light would come on around 125 miles and I would only put in 3.5 gallons leaving 2 gallons left..

my only (minor) issue has been a loose Triple tree bearing. The local dealer tightened it at the 500 mile service - under warranty

Of course I have the same problem as all other S3 riders - a stupid grin every time I mount her  :-D

I love my triple - when its working. Posted a problem last week, haven't looked at any replies yet. Can't lift the front tire off the ground - can't 'condition' the rear tire.

Bought with 5,000 km on it (3,000 miles) IN 99. Only has 14,000 km on it now. Anyway, low race can, no new tune, teo out of three jugs not firing and it won't start.

Woe is me.

Ah, I'll get her fixed yet. I'd love a new 05S3. Man it looks hot.

My turn signals went out after riding in heavy rain down in Florida during Bike Week this year. They started working a day or two later after whatever had shorted dried out, but it was really annoying at the time. I'm going to take it into the dealer to get a bunch of questions answered about warranty coverage and see what work can get done to ensure that doesn't happen again.

I got the fuel fittings swapped out for metal during my first-500 mile oil change under warranty after hearing about the recall.

Other than that, I've only ever had problems with my batteries draining, but that is probably due to the first being 3 years old and the second having the factory alarm set on high sensitivity and going off for days in a row. I've since removed the high sensitivity adjustment and no more battery drain, lol.

turnsignal wiring harness was replaced. Headlights would go on and off. Problem is back again. I have to call the dealer.

I had to have the steering head bearing tightened too, but my dealership charged me for it, although my warranty is still valid. They also made me pay for a fuel map update, and a replacement metal female fuel connector.

Anyone know the details of the warranty - what's covered and what isn't?

Thanks.

nyburner, i'm not sure about the first two items in question, but i'ld pursue the fuel fitting issue with triumph. if the part was the original unit and failed during the warranty period it should be covered.

if the part was "male", there have been frequent failures and are covered under a mandatory recall for s3 and 955i vins 046269-186130 and are not subject to the limits of the warranty. both male part must be replaced and at no charge to the owner.

1) Both light's being on all the time drains the battery too much

2) Battery does not hold a charge very long

3) Seat is hard

4) mirror's

This my sound like a lot of complaints, but I always have a smile on my face when I'm riding ....Love my triple !!.... :-D ......Jim
