Getting close!

I bought my first Triumph in August and have been appreciating this forum ever since. After a cople thousand miles, the cold weather was the perfect opportunity to get some mods done.

I got a bunch of stuff powder coated black and put on the Arrow system after having it ceramic coated.

I've got a couple little odd items left but I'm getting close to my dream bike.

Here she is....

NICE! Great job bro!

I've been wanting to get my headlight buckets painted, but just not in the mood for dealing with the wiring, having to either take the tank off to get to the connections, or screw with the connections at the back of the bucket.

What did you wind up doing to get the buckets off the bike to get painted?

Thanks for the kind words and appreciation of my changes.

There was enough wire in the buckets to cut the wires ~3" from the bulb terminations and then crimp in quick disconnect fittings. I figured this way I could easily remove the lights and didn't have to take anything extra off the bike.

All seems to be working well. My only comment on this is use good quality, insulated connectors sized appropriately for the wiring and used the recommended crimper for the connectors if you do this.

brave man to cut those wires. lol I dunno, when it comes to British electric...I'm afraid to even fart around a wire. Well, then again, my farts can ripple paint, esepcially if I had buffalo wings.

Tip: If someone else is doing the buckets, you can release the plastic connector body inside the housing from the wire. Small flat screwdriver will release the plastic tabs that are holding metal spades in connector body. Just make a note of which spade was where before detaching them all.

I'm gonna go that route. I'll just make a map of what went where before hand. I'll sand the chrome down WELL and smooth....prime it with etching primer....then spray a few coats of the semi-gloss/satin engine block paint with some very light wet sanding in between coats. I hope to get to this this week.
