So I went to an Ohlins service tech (SB Suspension) and had my suspension set up and oh gosh does it make a difference. I needed heavier springs front and rear for my weight (215lb) and I got the forks rebuilt with better seals and dust boots. I was told we are also able to upgrade the valving inside cuz our ohlins is a bit of a dated design. The suspension can be smoother just the valves are the limiting factor.
The bike turns with much less effort now. It almost drops in. On the highway it much more stable. The suspension is now absorbing the bumps instead of transferring them all to my spine. I highly recommend getting your suspension properly setup. Im gonna do valving in the spring time most likely.
Yeah, that is the way to go especially if you are heavjer than 180lbs or so. I have an older bike than yours, but put Ohlins on mine and what a difference.
I did the same thing. The shop did the original settings after the suspension install, but it was far too harsh. I've tweaked and experimented some, and it's better now, but I'd like to really have it set up by someone that knows what they're doing. I think I'll take it to a guy in Austin that had a good rep.

Authorized Service Center
This place is a Ohlins authorized service center. Which is a big deal. There's only a handful in the US. Like 4 or so. I went to the one near me in Chicago. I would check them out before anything else and count your blessings there is one near you.
It will make a difference, but only if it's set up wrong to start with. You can check the sag by yourself (well with the help of someone else), then the true art comes from dialling in the damping (this is where I get stumped and need the help of a pro)
