New Leathers

I've been looking and trying to get owners' experience with the Triumph Genetix jacket and the Spidi Scarface.

Does anyone here have one of these and if so, how does it work out with the riding position on the Speed Triple? Also, how is it working out (good quality, ease of use, cool in the summer, warm in the winter)?

Thanks,
Kong

Can't speak for the Scarface, but i recently got the Spidi Seven jacket which i'm very impressed with. Newenough is selling off the last of their Spidi stock for basically half off.

The Seven's definitely a winter/fall jacket, no perforations whatsoever and a long sleeved liner. Quality is excellent (should be for the $500+ price).

I've got a fully perforated Vanson which i use for summertime. I'd say the Spidi is just a step below Vanson in quality, but to be fair, IMO nothing on the market matches Vanson for quality. The Spidi comes close, and being Italian, of course, it trumps Vanson for style.

The Spidi stuff seems to be cut a little more for the smaller Euro frames than the ...ahem...larger American builds. Armor is excellent, but w/ the Seven, you gotta pay extra for back protection.

I've got the Vanson Perf and CSRX jackets, with the Traveller pants. You can't go wrong with Vanson. Worth the investment, IMO.

Thanks all. I looked at the Vanson site. There are no Vanson dealers in Ohio. I'd like to try on the jacket before dropping $650 on it.

Hmm.

Go to www.newenough.com and use the sizing chart for Vanson. They have a good return policy.
