Props to PJ's Parts and ACE Motorsports in Concord, CA
I wanted to publicly thank PJ and Paige from PJ's Parts, for their incredible customer service in regards to my MIVV exhaust troubles. I am in no way associated with PJ and his company, BTW. I heard about his great customer service on this forum and turned to him for help when I got an '07 MIVV low mount exhaust, for my 2006 Speed Triple 1050.
My mistake in ordering, combined with a less than helpful Italian E-bay seller, resulted in me having the incorrect mid-pipe for my bike. Through the course of 2 - 3 months and 13 email messages from PJ, we sorted out the problem, he ordered the correct mid-pipe connectors, bracket and bolts for my bike, from MIVV in Italy and sold them to me at less than his cost. He even offered to do a complete exchange, my 2007 setup for a 2006 setup, if it came to that. I didn't even buy the pipe from him.
So, my first experience with PJ and PJ's parts has been very satisfying. He knows his products and he is very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend going to PJ's for all your MIVV exhaust needs and anything else he sells.
In conclusion, I finally installed the pipe and am super happy with the look and sound. I went to ACE Motorsports in Concord, CA to have a different tune downloaded and also had a good experience there. One of the mechanics, Paul, really knew what he was doing, tried a couple different tunes, test rode each time and let me test ride for each one to see how I liked it. We agreed on which one was best suited to this pipe and went with that. He also did a bunch of other checks for me free of charge ( I just performed my 12,000mi service, on my own) and made a couple tweaks to make up for my lack of experience in doing the maintenance. All together, I was charged $53.00 for 2.5 hours of service and left feeling that I have a confident and friendly dealer nearby.
