Hey Guys,

Been a while since I have been in here..........Busy licking my wounds and all - and dealing with insurance companies....but the bike is almost done being repaired (explained in earlier post from December - got cut off & had to lay her down). Anyways, I am still in search of an adapter to replace the right rear foot peg after mounting the Triumph High Can. The exhaust mount that came with the High Can does not allow for previous adapters to fit. Contacted Triumph and they explained the exhaust mount for the '04 S3 High Can was desigend to eliminate the foot peg..... Guess I should have done a little more homework before purchasing the exhaust................live and learn. Anyways I love the exhaust (looks and sound) but want to put my peg back on.

Anyone know of anyplace thats has adapter kits for the '04 S3. I have searched high and low and come up with nothing. Possibly may have to have one machined from scratch - but was hoping to find a kit.

Well, hopefully within a week or two I will be back on the road.............wrist is healed and bike should be done soon. Have not ridden since 12/20/04 and its f'g killin me!!! Yeah its only been a month but when your a daily rider it seems like eternity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy belated New Year to everyone..............see ya on the roads soon............

Ken

I believe Skyking sells an adapter kit for the high mount exhaust. I made my own but they look almost identical to the others I've seen. Try Skyking Products

Texas,

Thx for the info, but I have already looked into skyking (and many many others). Problem is with the '04 S3 mounting bracket sent by Triumph the skyking (nor any others out there that I have found) will work with the bracket - That'
s the frustrating part............no problem on S3's up to '03 but for some reason Triumph changed the '04 S3 High Mount exhaust bracket - go figure!!!

As always, I do appreciate the response though. This site is the best source for info i have found anywhere.

Thanks again.
Ken

Hey ken750f,

that is unusual that Triumph changed the mounting bracket since the exhaust itself is exactly the same for '02 thru '04. Did they change the bracket just for the '04 model bike or did they just change it in general? (regardless of which year you plan to fit it on)

I'd be interested in seeing a pic of the new mounting bracket....maybe then someone could offer up a better suggestion. You might check with your Triumph dealer to see if you can order (or perhaps exchange for) the previous style mounting bracket....I would think this would work fine on your '04. It might be cheaper than paying a machine shop to custom fab you one...unless you have a friend or access to machine tools yourself.

Good luck.

ken750f,

This is how I put my rear pass pegs back on. Does your
pipe hanger look like this, from what I understand this is the latest design from Triumph.

I have another pic in my photo album in Volume 2 page 2 down at the bottom (Silver Bike)

fwhite & ATK,

As soon as I get the bike back from the dealer I will take and post some photos. I might have some already on my home computer so I will check tonight when I get home. When i got the exhaust I pulled it out of the box and mounted it as it came with the supplied bracket.

I do think the hanger that came with my pipe is similar to the one in your pic ATK, but for some reason just attaching the peg assembly back on will not work. Like I said I will post some pics as soon as possible.

Thanks Guys!!!!!

Ken
