"The adjustment on the forks for compression and rebound are on different forks such as they've done with the new kwaka Z1000. This they did to keep the cost down I'm guessing."

This is done on several full-race machines - not at all a cost-cutting feature. Just due to frame/fork rigidity plus makes tuning a bunch easier (no more "off a click on the right"). Duc's doing this on the nearly $75,000 D16 so I doubt it has anything to do with cost at all.

The S3 is a great all-rounder - makes the right sounds, pretty decent handling, and absolutely gnarly in all respects. Even decent as a light-tourer (600 miles a day, no problems). Wheelies and power slides have never looked so good

So what is the mpg on one of those? Speed is nice (very nice!), but I have to be able to afford riding every day.

the shorty exhaust looks kinda funky but if it works go for it!

Hope your femur heals -that is a bummer! While you are laid up and can't ride maybe you could paint that green monster a nice color?? (just kidding) Get well soon!

Pros: Tons of power, engine attached to wheels and some controls look, great fit and finish, comfortable for longer rides, handles great, sounds awesome, gets tons of looks.

Cons: The seat does not allow you to move around that much, so finding a comfortable spot to hang off the bike can be tricky. Low fuel light not worth a dam. Sometimes the engine sounds like it want to ping itself to death, only sometimes though. Clunky gear box. Soft clear coat on the gas tank scuffs easily, but I hear that the clear coat is thick though, making it easy to buff out.

How Much for that exhaust?

I removed everything from the right footpeg back and installed the megaphone with in the typical Moto-GP style location. I couldn't get in on the Dyno, Arizona Victory couldn't figure out how to put it on the Dyno without a spark plug wire to connect to. Seat of the pants improvement is obvious though, with bottom end torque being the most obvious improvement.
With the stock exhaust, when I snapped the throttle open quickly the front end came up at about 3/4 throttle, now its up at less than half. Midrange is definitely better and top end feels close to the same. Strange, you'd expect a pipe like the Akrapovic Megaphone would make mostly top end, but I swear it feels like the biggest gain was 3-6000 rpm, with smaller gains everywhere else too.

Oh, forgot to add that its LOUD. Not so bad at low load, low rpm but when you twist the throttle its almost as loud as a Harley.
I was just curious on what that system costs? I have an arrow system. Its alright.

Thanks
Michael

It costed about 180.00 shipped, but I had to fabricate a connector pipe using 1 3/4 inch exhaust tubing, and a bracket. The pipe is actually designed for an 06+ R6.

heat shield/radiator spacer
while rolling my 07 s3 1050 off my trailer... it was wet.. slipped and dumped it on the trailer ramp.. then noticed coolant running down... looked at the side that it landed on and saw that both spacers connected to the heat shield had punched into the radiator and broken free... ie new radiator.. found out it is manufactured by ktm... what was interesting is that the radiators were back ordered out of atlanta (main distribution center for usa) which leaves me to think that others may of had a problem... after a wait and $ 750 had a new radiator... also took the old one to the local radiator repair and had it repaired (braised) for $25 as a back up.

Good...Wide handlebars
The wide high dirtbike style handlebars are great (maybe except for very high speed because you catch more wind). So much easier to manouvre around parking lots, do u turns etc. than a bike with clipons. I love them on tight bumpy rough real world roads because its much easier to maintain a higher degree of control IMHO than true sports bikes that are designed for more race track conditions.
While the exact shape, angle and positioning of the bars is a matter of personal preferance you can go to the local dirt bike shop if you want to do a bit of fine tuning to the riding position. Though if you go higher you may need a longer brake line.
