I'm interested in eliminatiing my fender and am looking for recomendations. I would prefer something that does not require cutting so I can easily return to stock if desired.

Any pics would be very helpful.

Thanks!

The cheapest way to go is to just trim the stock fender. I've seen a guy with his stock fender trimmed down to just the plate holder piece and it looked great. Otherwise, you can guarantee cutting either way. I had to chop off my entire tail section after the brake light to bolt on my undertail. Looks a lot better though IMO.

Thanks for the info.

I was hoping someone sold a self contained unit that would simply replace the stock fender assembly with no cutting required. A friend of mine purchase a kit for his Ducati ST3 that installed fairly easily with no cutting leaving the original unit intact.

Sorry, unfortunately for us, the entire undertail plastic is one piece, from the battery box to the tip of the license plate holder. Unless you find a kit that replaces the entire plastic undertail, you're going to have to get out the grinder and cut something off, lol.

It wasn't a horrible experience cutting off that tail, just take your time and expect to get dirty. Oh, and make sure you don't ever want to return to stock without buying a new stock undertail. A sawzall or some smaller bladed cutting tool would probably work better than the die grinder I used. Molten plastic dripping while cutting isn't that fun.

Ah ha!...that explains why I haven't seen a kit/procedure yet that doesn't involve cutting. Oh well, I guess I'll wait until Spring and then break out the power tools.

Thanks again for the input!

If you really wanted to return the bike to stock, you could always pick up a replacement inner fender from ebay. They usually go for less than $20.

I bought my kit from Sky King. I paid $ 50 bucks for it and it rocks!

Yes, you will have to mode it with some cutting. I used a sawz-all and, also a dribble tool. The key is to take your time, the platic will melt. The kit also came with great directions and also three pages of photos of before and after pictures.

I was happy with this Kit.

Chop that thing off!

Yeah, it's going to have to go!! ...I just have to decide now between the SkyKing or the DIY version. I have to say I like the price of the DIY verison the best :-D ....but in the interest of time, I'll probably go with the SkyKing.

Thanks for the input!
