I got mine of Ebay for £8 ($15 usd), , secondhand but never even out of the box, bit of a bargin after seeing the price of the stuff.

Cheers Mark.

Why didn't you go with red paint?

I've got red spokes and the callipers would have been lost with their colour, also I have a gold clock surround and brake res cap so it will complement them nicely.

Cheers Mark.

check out some of the forums for honda (ricer upgrades) or mbworld.org (mercedes). These are pretty popular with both of those crowds. The only things I remember are: 1) use abundant quantities of brake cleaner. Wipe and respray, wipe and respray. You cannot get the calipers clean enough. 2) if you can, take the calipers off the bike to paint and prep (not in that order of course), 3) mask off any vitals! 4) mask off the lettering before painting - makes it look pro instead of ricer, 5) be ready to work fairly quickly. This isn't paint - it's a 2 part epoxy that starts hardening when you mix it. 6) if you screw up an area and it's set a bit already - DO NOT futz with it. You'll end up making it worse. Let it dry, sand lightly and reapply or ignore.

Hope this helps. Post some pix when you're done with closeups!

Thanks peeti, just a couple of things, the instructions say to mix it and leave it 10 minutes before applying ?

Also I was going to paint over the lettering, then on the finest belt linish the letters down and apply a bit of clear lacquer over them ?

Cheers Mark.

'linish' ??

Queen's english sure is strange

On a serious note, if you mean coat and sand/file then yes that should work. Be very careful on the surrounding paint. It should be infinitely easier to go this route than masking. I can't picture the calipers at the moment, but if the lettering is raised, then this should be a piece of cake. If depressed/debossed then mask away - scraping the insides stinks!

As far as the waiting period - I can't speak to that. Never did it - the info I posted was from the things I've read over the past couple of years on the other sites.

Good luck!
