Poor man's clip ons

Check it out - my solution to clip ons w/o the risk of needing to resell if I don't like 'em. Flip the handle bar, and you get... something close!

Just got done w/ a nice 150mi ride using them. The first hour, my poor back and wrists were really suffering. However after taking a break, they weren't really that bad. Side to side transitions are much easier, defintely a lot more pressure on the wrists as this really biases your weight up front. Not sure if I'll keep it this way, maybe give a few more weeks.

do you have any problems with the controls hitting the tank or locking the fork ?

Yeah - same here....what does the riding position feel like?

Oh sorry I re-read your post - you mentioned your "aching back"

Thanks guys. It surpassed my expectations, which weren't very high.

The ergos are very aggressive. About the same, or even more so, than say a GSXR. What surprised me was that I don't feel a need to have the footpegs adjusted, I thought it would be awkward. As for the controls hitting the tank, yes, but barely. Since I can still lock my steering column, I just try and make it a habit to not hit anything when parking. I spent a bit of time tinkering with the handle bar position and the cables to get it in this position - everything is very snug. The bar clears the pre-load adjuster bolts, and the brake banjo bolt from the fork, by only ~2mm.

Hopefully in a few weeks, I'll adjust to this position. Otherwise, I'll need to flip it back. I took the nice stock riding position for granted all this time!
