Question Gauge cluster is not operating properly

Anyone else have problems with the 2007 gauge cluster not cycling through to all the functions? Mine will not let you scroll through to any other indicators like avg. mpg, instant mpg, avg. speed, top speed. No matter what button/s you hold in the speed indicator starts to flash with the number 2. Left alone the 2 reverts back to a 0. I have cycled power by pulling the batt. cable off, not the solution. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Sounds like something is sticking and going into calibrate mode. The 2,1,0 correspond to reading in Km, Miles/imp. gallons, miles/US gallons.

That's a common problem with newer S3's

Have you had it out in the rain much?

Water bleeds past the console seals and rusts out the buttons on the circuit board.

Both outside buttons went on mine.

The good news is that it's covered under warranty (AU$1200 for a new console), and when you swap it out, the odometer starts off at zero again!

I finished off the summer season, and then put it in the shop for a replacement. Wound 9,500km off...

Congrats.

Wink

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm gonna continue to rip on it until the riding season gets short then have the dealer fix it.
