Speed Four to Speed triple, good choice?

Hi,

Im considering changeing bike within the next 4 months or so (Likely Jan/Feb time).
Im currently very, very bored with the S4 even after only 8 months ownership, Im longing after some fun and most importantly some low down torque, town rideing is a pain on the S4.

Is it a good step up though or would I be better off getting something somewhat less powerful (Street Triple maybe?)?

My rideing is mostly made up of commuteing, all year round rideing and fun.

Thanks all.

never rode an S4, but im sure you will love the S3 over that. i went from an sv650 to a S3, its a great bike for around town.

in case you dont know, the black is the slowest color.

I have both the S4 and S3 but prefer the S3 in cities and on longer trips. You won't go wrong with the S3!

I just rode an S4 recently...buddy has it. hated it....with a passion. Getting BACK onto my Speed Triple felt orgasmic.

S4 is crazy uncomfy for town riding and commuting if you ask me. Has the balls of a cricket...whereas the S3 has the balls of King Kong in comparison.

Get rid of that crap box S4 and get yourself an S3....you'll wonder what took you so long.

Mind you, I came from a BEAST...an insane 160 REAR WHEEL horsepower CBR1000rr and I still think the S3 is by FAR...by far the best bike I ever rode.

I had an S4 prior to my S3. Didn't like the "peaky" engine of the S4, but it handled and braked like a banshee. Very happy with my switch to the S3.

I have both, I wouldn't get rid of the S4 for quids!! We have a lot of twisties where I'm from and prefer the S4's superior handling and nimbleness for these rides, I love tap dancing up and down the gear box and hearing it scream up the redline!! But of course you need to be in the mood to ride her well as you will know!! That being said the 1050's got grunt all round, you will be surprised at how much grunt it has compared to the S4, And you will love just cracking the throttle open in any gear and getting instant power not having to chop her down 3 gears to get anywhere. But she is heavier and not as nimble as the S4 in the tight stuff. But on normal roads the S3 is an absolute Hoot of a bike!! If I had the choice of having one or the other it would be the S3 by a large margin. Fek'n fantastic bike!!!!

If you crave torque, the S3 will definitey give you your your fix!
And the S3 can be a sweet, docile kitten or a nasty, motorcycle-eating lion depending purely on the strength of the devil in your mind and in your right hand.

To be honest, going from anything to a S3 wouldn't be a bad choice for most. As you already have a naked streetfighter the choice becomes even easier

Have a test ride at a dealers - no obligations, a fun day out and you get to see what it's like before making any firm decision. My money's on you changing

Yea I may do so if I find the time.

Whats the difference between the 05 & 06 Triple?
Im mostly looking at 05`s as they are cheaper and dont seem much different from 06`s.
Only bad thing is Roulette Green is an 06 colour
