At the moment my current mission is to find a way to reduce the wind resistance on my 2004 SP3 as I do a lot of miles and the current original top hat looks good but is complete useless. The thing is I don't want to ruin the looks by changing it that much or by fitting non-Triumph bits such as the Manx Screen, Laminar lip or Alien front end because, if we're all honest here, none of them look much good and from what I’ve read, they don't work that well either. So I thought about using the cut-down top half of a Daytona fairing using the headlight and screen to achieve the desired effect but to keep to the bolting on of original Triumph bits rule. So, my question is, has anyone done or attempted such an exercise and if you have do you have any photographic evidence you could share? I've also got a vague recollection of seeing a photo a while back (or a half photo at least) of something similar somewhere on the net but have no idea where. Any help, advice or photos would be welcome, cheers.

I can't imagine it would be that hard since they're really the same bike structurally. It'll end up being an aggressive Sprint RS.

Keep us posted.

I think you'd have to convert the entire front end to the Daytona headlights and brackets in order to fit the screen.

I like my RoadRacing fairing. It gave me enough aerodynamics to up my top end by 10mph and helped a bit with the wind. Of course, it probably doesn't do anywhere near as much as an entire sport bike fairing, but I don't really want that with this bike. I'll probably get a Sprint ST down the road if I want a fully faired bike.

If you want more pics I can take them and repost.

I found the picture I was looking for over on the t595 forum.

[Page Title

This is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for but this picture doesn't show much. The guys just cut down what looks like a Daytona fairing and a nice job it looks too. Anyone have any other photo's or experaince of this kind of thing?

Yeah, from what I can tell, it looks like he's got the entire headlight/fairing assembly hooked up on that, so you'd need the lights and bracket for that. Looks cool though. Would have made more sense to have just bought a daytona if you wanted a fairing. It'll probably cost around $1000 or so to do that unless you can find the parts on ebay for cheap.

Here is a good place to start. someone is selling the headlight assembly on ebay. You'd have to get the mounting kit from a dealer, I think...

Daytona Headlight
