Matris Damper Review

I've had the Matris M3 damper on for a couple of weeks now. 130 miles per day during the week commuting to/from work so freeways, back roads, potholes, avoiding retarded cagers, high speed windy conditions.....as well as 2 Saturdays on some very twisty mountain roads. Basically every scenarion you can think of.

Now the S3 is pretty stable to begin with. Occassional minor headshake in high speed freeway riding when it's windy, or when I change lanes over some crappy freeway pavement, or accelerating quickly out of a turn, etc etc etc....you get that little shake/wobble from time to time...no big deal. Coming from a bike that had a stock electronic damper I guess spoiled me so the little bit of shake I felt on the S3 was probably the softy in me.

Well the matris damper 100% eliminated any sign AT ALL of any shake. Nothing, nada, zip. Makes the bike COMPLETELY stable.....even in full lean on a turn, going fast over bumpy crappy road it just stays solid.....very solid, zero shake/wobble. I cranked the dial up 2-3 clicks from where it came stock.

The quality of the damper is incredible, looks kick ass and is QUITE smaller than I had envisioned it would be. Can barely see it on the bike, just tucks nicely up and behind the forks. Can EASILY click the dial while on the bike.

Worth every single penny!!!

Glad to hear it, I have been thinking about adding a steering damper for sometimes now. One time I had one hand on the handle bars briefly and hit some bumps and I almost dropped my bike. How much did you pay for it?

There are pix all over the net of the matris. If people want, I can get pix of mine up in here this weekend. I get home and it's dark now.

I got it from PJ's parts....AWESOME spectacular customer service. I had to wait 3 weeks...2.5 weeks to get it from Europe and 3-4 days to get it to California, but worth the wait!!. It was $500 and worth every penny. Forget body parts, tank pads, grips, levers....all cosmetic and look cool, but anything to improve the bikes performance/handling is worth it. And this damper truly delivers....big time.

I've been looking for something similar. That'll do nicely. Thanks!

Guys, the Matris damper mounting bracket will hit front fender under heavy braking. At least 3 owners have reported the same thing on here or "theothersite.com".

That killed my enthusiasm towards buying one.

Yep, hits the fender if front suspension goes all the way down in heavy braking or wheelie gone wrong... been there, done that

But still worth every penny.. or cent
