I'm going to do the same. What paint did you use?

From NAPA. Self-etching primer and some satin/low gloss engine block paint. The lid/cap of the paint can matches the final outcome well. Had some chrome-ish wrap around the can.

I scuffed the cowls up well with a green scotch-brite pad and cleaned them well with simple green. Washed them off well with water, dried.

Put like 2-3 coats of primer on the cowls. I punctured holes in the cardboard used to paint on so the bolts could stand upright and be primed painted too.

I think I put at least 5 coats of paint on the cowls and bolts. I made one mistake. Let it dry and wet sanded it gently to smooth it out and reapplied a couple of coats over that area. Came out pretty flawless for not being a pro.

Was so dam easy I was pissed for not doing it sooner. I took apart the signals to get the wires off from the back of the bulb as opposed to unplugging them from up under the tank. So dam simple the whole thing.
