Technical Question - Running Rich

I have an 06 1050 Speed Triple. The only performance/engine mods are a BMC air filter, TOR pipes, and the updated tune for the pipes.

I don't know which tune was loaded.

The bike seems to run really rich, especially at WOT. I can usually smell raw fuel after getting on it a bit. I fouled my original set of spark plugs just after getting the TOR's.

If I change to a low mount free-er flowing exhaust like the M4 will it help? Should I go back to the original air filter?

Has anyone tried running spark plugs with a hotter heat range?

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Dave

Have the tune re-checked and possibly re-loaded? Seems like that would be a cheaper alternative. If you're fouling plugs, you're probably running the wrong tune, and whomever did the work should re-do their work.

Just my opinion, of course.

I seriously would run a stock air filter.... I have seen many issues with many different bikes after swapping out a stock air filter. These engineers spend countless hours on perfecting the way the engine is going to run with factory parts... just my opinion....

Another thing in the future is maybe try one mod at a time when swapping out things on the engine.
