Paint Question

I'm seriously considering re-painting my '01 955i from black to the orange color that older Speed 3's (97-98?) came in.I think it was called Lucifer Orange.Does anyone know for sure?

Hi WildBill, i've just been onto the Triumph website where they have all the codes -
http://www.triumph.co.uk/uk/2046.aspx
There is a Lucifer Orange there but it doesn't say what year they used it.

Hi WildBill

I think you'll find the early triple was Fireball Orange BEC/1657, as it’s a solid orange colour. Lucifer Orange is a 3 stage colour with red base and yellow pearl over the top. If you go here http://www.shcolor.info/ you can get a fomula printed in Spies Hecker if that helps. Just type the code under general search.

Good luck!

"lucifer orange" "speed triple"

Copy & paste the title in Google and you'll come up with the results I found. I can't say I've seen a speedy this colour, but I can tell what it will look like from the paint formula. In poor light it will just look bright red, but in the sunlight it will take on a sparkly orange gold glow from certain angles. The remaining angles will stay bright red. Does that sound like the colour you're after? If so, it's Lucifer Orange!

Let me know if that helps!

I thought that Lucifer Orange was only used on the 2000-2001 Sprint RS ??

I could be wrong though..

I think you are right, and as the proud owner of a Lucifer Orange Sprint RS I say sod off to the OP, and do not defile our precious and exclusive color with your grubby little hooligan bike!!

Just kidding. I think it would look great. Not to mention it would then beat all other S3's hands-down, since Lucifer Orange is of course the fastest color.

Thank you Ferris.Lucifer Orange is definitely the color I'm looking for.And Kludge, you could very well be right about Lucifer Orange being the fastest color.
