Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50 synthetic OK for Speedy?

my transmission is CLUNKY as hell and i'm hoping the 20w-50 might smooth it out a little. even if this idea is full of **** is it all right to put this in my '07 S3?

Well, it IS your bike, & one of the freedoms we still have is to put whatever the hell oil we want in our crankcase...
That said. the manual states pretty clearly that it is designed to use 10-40 or 15-50. It doesn't say 20-50 & I will bet you a case of oil that the 20-50 will not make your tranny one bit smoother. Miles will. Ride more. Repeat.

Got to agree with Joemama...it's up to you, but it won't make much difference to your transmission.

About the only thing it will mean is that the 20W oil is thicker when cold than a 10W or 15W would be. I have no idea whether this will present any lubrication deficiencies at startup. (Probably not, but I personally like to get my oil flowing everywhere ASAP.) After it's finally up to working temperature, it won't be any different from any other oil with a 50 rating anyway, so if you're hoping the 50 part of the rating will help the gearbox you'd be just as well off with a 15W-50.
