The Great Bar Riser Question

Anyone have bar risers on their S3? I'm an old(er) fart and thinking of trying some. If so, what brand and did you have to change brake lines etc?

I recently went with the Rizoma fat bars and their 62mm risers (something like that, might be 61mm, I forget now). Changed the configuration SLIGHTLY...very slightly. A little higher than stock and the bars sweep back to me ever so SLIGHTLY. Subtle but nice difference. Kicked major arse on the twisties last Saturday so it obviously didn't affect my riding at all. I tell ya, Rizoma makes some insanely quality stuff...although you sure do pay for it.

You can go to the hardware store and get some nylon spacers the same diameter as the current risers with a 3/8" bore and a couple of longer riser bolts to match.
Shim the bars as high as you want.
Save $100.

I didn't change my risers but I did get a set of renthal bars with a 4" rise. The bars are perfect, and gold. I can lean into the wind if I wish but ride up a lot more and don't have to rest all my weight on my wrists. All that was necessary to change was the front brake lines. The stock brake lines are already about 1/2" too short. I'll try to get some pics here today.

Game over - we've got a winner!

I have a set of Tusk universal risers on my S3. They come as a stack of spacers in varying thicknesses with bolts in 3 different lengths. You mix and match to get the height you want. Currently, I've got mine set up w/ about 1/2" rise, which is just enough to get my back out of a kink. Rocky Mountain ATV sells them for $20.00 + shipping:

Sheesh, for 20 bucks ya can't go wrong. Are the risers plastic or aluminum?

They're aluminum spacers. Zero bling, but they work fine.
