Helmet Lock

Hi,

Anyone have one on their '05+ 1050? If so where did you mount it?

Thanks

I was wondering the same thing... I'm thinking the frame between the seat and the tank... but then there's the exhuast to worry about.

Anyone have first hand experience?

helmet lock

I have a helmet guardian on mine. It attaches behind the license plate, and has 2 helmet locks, one on each side. I think they're about 55 bucks. You can get them through Sport Touring Accessories or Cycle Gadgets. Very useful and doesn't look bad either.

I took an 8mm allen head bolt, screwed it into the front side bolt hole for the grab bar using a lock nut and then use a helmet extender to slip over the allen bolt. Works great other than the seat being finicky about latching at times depending on where the helmet extender sticks out from underneath.

Great thanks! Your helmet does not rest on the pipes at all?

I use a looped cable and pad lock. I run it through the subframe under the seat. It also will keep my jacket in place by running it through a sleve then through the chin of the helmet.

It does touch but the muffler are cool enough to touch but not hold shortly after riding. It would be a perfect setup with the 3 to 1 Arrow system.

I use this. Just attached it to my license plate... Works great for when I wanna leave my helmet secured to the bike while parked (obviously not a solution for riding, but then again why are you riding without your helmet on your head?)

So you just bolt it between your licence plate and the license plate bracket? No problems with the heat from the muffler?
