that's still kind of my point Harvee. I don't care if you raise the limiter to 12k rpm, the peak output isn't gonna change drastically without changing the cams. I don't think these guys get it. I have my limiter set at 9950 because that little extra bit of over run is nice especially on carrying out some wheelies. As far as everything else I've said, I'm just gonna shut up, 'cause these guys keep going on and on. I've done over 20 dyno runs on my bike alone, and I've seen quite a few other speedy's dyno'd, so I'm no dummy, you guys believe what ya wanna believe.

If you have Tuneboy, you can change the limiter to what you wish, but I wouldn't recommend going over 9950. I don't believe there's no way any S3 would peak at that high of an rpm without changing the cams.
Cheap, not commenting on the validity of anything else, but if it's a 1050 motor, redline is 10000 RPM and the rev limiter comes in after that (I've hit 10,200 accidently on my 07 S3 - false neutral so don't know what it is set for).

My rev limiter is set to the stock 9450rpm with tuneboy. The gauge goes to about 10500 before the limiter kicks in. In other words at 10000rpm on the clock is actual ~9000rpm. The true peak power cannot be at over 10000rpm simply because the engine does not rev that high.

I don't know about everyone else, but I just raised my redline to 10k so I would have that little extra overrun for trackdays and wheelies before I hit the limiter. My first shift light comes on at 8500 and the second flashes brightly at 9500. I didn't do it for a power gain.

Dyno runs are good for baselines as long as you're comparing power changes on the same dyno under the same conditions. Otherwise, results vary from dyno to dyno and some operators can actually fudge the results by tweaking a few things here and there. Also, Dynojet dynos are marked up by something like 15% from actual compared to Factory Pro.
