The small little white tankie thingy

Hey people, im wondering if anyone would be so kind as to tell me what the small white tank under the passenger seat on my 97 s3 is? Is it some sort of overflow for the cooling system?

Only fill it to the minimum mark, otherwise speedy becomes incontinent and starts leaving little green pools everywhere when you stop.
