1050 Vibrations

If I'm flogging a long dead horse with this question please point me in the right direction of previous posts, done a search but didn't come up with anything.
Is it normal for an 06 S3 ( 6500k's ) to have a vibration through the pegs when coasting (neither accelerationg or decelerating). I can even hear it. I should also mention it's there regardless if the the lever is pulled in or not.
It's nothing I can't put up with but the reason I ask is that being an 06 It'll soon be out of warranty and if it isn't normal, now is the time for me to approach a dealer. I've been trying to teach myself to wheelie and stoppie recently (starting from a very low base, so its taking a lot of practice) I'm a bit worried I've been a bit hard on the gearbox...hope its just paranoia anybody else notice it?

I have no idea what to tell you to look at other than the obvious loose fasteners, but I do not have that "option".

Sorry, just realised I should have said "clutch lever" instead of "lever". It also sounds/feels gearboxish, though I guess it could be chain related, Though I did check chain tension already.

Have you kept the chain well lubricated?

Otherwise, have you noticed any notchyness in the sterring? Try walking the bike and slowly turn the bars for notches. If so, you've got damaged head bearings.

If you've come down hard on the front or back from a wheelie or stopie, you might have damaged wheel bearings.

Do you have a pitbul or similar stand? If so, set the bike on it and rotate the wheel by hand and listen for unusual noises. This would also help you to diagnose bad bearings.

Unfortunately, if you have been wheelieing or stopieing, this damage would not likely be covered with the warantee.

Godspeed,
Kong

2 ideas.........

1. Already been said, lube the chain very well and check that it has the correct amount of slack.

2. I did this on mine, take the seat off and make sure the tool kit is held securely in place. I wrapped mine in a terrycloth towel. It did the trick.

good luck,
Dave

+1 on chain tension. Mine likes 50mm. No less than 40, ever.

And yes on the noisy gearbox.

Like the other said. Your chain is too tight.

Wheel balance?
Damaged rim?
Damaged or cupped tire?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'd pretty much eliminated everything like headstem/wheelbearings etc.
But after reading several posts I think you guys might be onto something in the chain dept. I'm followed the "owners manual" (got a thicker book with my electric toothbrush ) and tensioned the chain to have between 35 & 40 mm slack. Which by the sounds of things is a little tighter than some of you guys have found to work well. I'll also be a little more carefull when lubricating the chain.
Thanks again

I also noticed this exact same vibration, most prevalent while i was deseleration with the clutch pulled in around 30 mph. Started after first maintenance on my 07, when i took it back to the dealer he said that he didn't notice anything and that it was mechanically sound so i am putting up with this minor nuisance.
