The wrench that came with your tool kit is made for adjusting the chain, not the spring. You will have to buy a smaller wrench to do the spring. There are two nuts at the top of the spring. Loosen the top one until you can it spin it freely with your hand. Then turn the bottom one to the right to compress the spring. Just remember how many revolutions you turn it so you can adjust to your likening.

Don't go more than a turn at a time, you're working through the linkage so it multiplies the change. You should measure your sag before and after, that is all you are changing, the spring rate stays the same.

You can just use a hammer and a punch to make the adjustment. Try not to bugger it up though.

Just to be clear, adjusting the collar on the rear spring doesn't change the spring rate. It changes the initial load or pre-load on the spring. If you want to change rates you have to change springs. Turn the collar counter clockwise to reduce the pre-load or clockwise to increase. Best to mark a line (with a permanent marker) across the locking ring and the adjusting collar before you make any adjustments. After you make the adjustment, tighten the lock ring so the lines are aligned. Also check the lines to make sure the lock ring hasn't loosened after the first couple of rides.

You go to a suspension tuner.
