Talking Picked up my 97 S3 today!

Well guys i went and picked up my black 97 speed triple today and wow......just WOW. I am totally in love with this bike like i have never been with any other bike i have ever ridden. It sounds awesome, it looks awesome and fark it goes hard! Had 3 guys standing round it in the parking lot one asked if he could take a photo then asked if he could sit on it....random. I also had at least 4 people today yell out "wheelie!" egging me to do a wheelie (might leave that for a while). Anyway, just wanted to thank you guys for the advice on getting an 'older' triumph i feel like an 8 year old on christmas day and cant stop grinning

Only question i have at the moment is that when i am braking (front break) there is a 'clicking' sound, i inspected the front discs and a couple of the washer looking things (not sure what they are) are a bit loose and wobble around a bit. Any idea what this means and is it fixable? Or does it mean i need new discs?

Your rotors are "floating" rotors. The fasteners will move back and forth a little bit and the rotor will flex on these but just a MINIMAL amount not enough to make noise when braking. I would take it to your dealer and have it checked out. I don't think you need new rotors though.

Well done Buddy, I bought a brand new T509 in 98' and loved it, Never had any trouble what so ever with her, sold it at around 30,000km and still see her around now and then. Just do your oil changes with a good fully synthetic every 5-6000 kms and you should get a good run from her. Just on a bit of a cautionary note did you check that it has no 4th gear issue???

Aren't you glad you didn't buy that SV650? The grin doesn't go away...

Yep, no fourth gear issues. Only problems i have found so far is that radiator leaks a probably 2 mil over night. Not sure if thats an overflow thing or if it has a genuine leak. Was gonna chuck some liquid radiator seal in it and see how that goes. Other issue is the trip meter, it seems to be working yet i remember seeing it up around 60km then next time i looked it was back at 15km, any ideas on what this is or how to fix it? Or did i just bump it?

Apart from that......man im just so **** happy, i keep looking out my window at night to look at it. Now i just need a name for it......
