tuneboy help

Hi all…
Just got my new tuneboy last week. All the info looks overwhelming.
I still have the stock exhaust, sai, and precat… 2006 model.
i would like to get rid Of the lean areas in the stock map. Does anyone
have a better map For stock setup than what comes from triumph?
Can I make those lean areas richer by myself? Is it hard to do?

Thanks for any help…

Try the Arrow 3-1 map. It has revised ignition map for better top end power and throttle response. 20133 if my memory serves. I cannot recommend anything else. I have a dyno tuned map for open cans and precat removed. It is modified from the Arrow map. Arrow map is by far the best map from factory.

Editing the map is easy but the hard part is you have to know what you are doing. My bike ran very well even with the stock map. I found out the 1050 is not very sensitive to mixture. It runs pretty much the same lean or rich or spot on.

I purchased the tuneboy, and after a few minor troubles getting started it worked flawelssly.
I recomend printing out the manuals. Then read over the setup part a couple of times, then start installing it and getting the ECU number off of the bike.
Then send that to the tunboy e-mail, and the next day you'll have your code. Then it is pretty easy.
Look over the different maps and their description. Find one that sounds good and install it. Take the bike for a ride. Look for a few things.
Does it start good. Can you shift it smoothly. Does the exhaust sound smooth. If the first map doesn't work good you can change it to another one.
I would not recomend changing or editing a map right off. They have a good selection of maps, one of them should really make the bike run well. The map I put on my bike is absolutely perfect. Super smooth shifting, great power, easy starting. Mine is a little older than yours with no SAI and aftermarket exhaust, so the map I used won't work for you, but once you get the hang of the tuneboy, you can change the map in a matter of minutes, and I am confident you will find one that works for you without editing the map. Try to get a good map in the bike first, then if you haven't found one that makes you happy, there are some directions on editing the maps in the tuneboy manual.
It does seem hard to get started, but after that it's a snap.
Happy tuning.
