Exclamation Help! Wtb Used/take-off Parts

Lowsided my '05 1050 at a VIR Trackday yesterday, and I need some salvage/takeoff parts to get rolling again.

Instrument cluster: new retails for about $800 more than I think it's worth, but the bike won't run with out it, so there's something about my b@lls in a wringer...need one of these.

Factory rearsets: just need left side, but would be willing to buy both.

Stock headlight/gauge bracket: if you've done the GSG kit and would like to unload your box of factory parts, I'm your man.

Might need an ignition switch, but I think I can fix it w/superglue. Also need brake reservoir, Pazzo clutch lever (black), and a paint job.

Please email me directly if you have any of this stuff: fred(at)industrynine(dot)net

Thanks in advance...

my GSG light kit is on the way, should be in in the next couple of weeks...dunno if you can wait that long....also i've been wanting to replace my rearsets, but the left ones arm is a little bent, if u want it contact me and that will give me the encouragement i need to go ahead and buy the aftermarket ones...as far as the paint job, i live in Wilmington, NC and i have a relative that paints at a very reasonable price if you feel like shipping the parts or stopping by.. email me at alexllinas@hotmail.com if any of the above interest you.

Sorry to hear your baby went down. There is a guy on Ebay in UK with instruments for sale

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/triumph-1050-s...QQcmdZViewItem

I know it says UK only but I usually find if you have good feedback and/or paypal and you write an intelligent note to the seller they are happy to get the best bid.

Good luck

Not much on ebay right now. I know some of the guys did a GSXR brake swap, I wonder if you could use the whole GSXR assembly? Forks, triples, levers, and all? It would have to be less expensive and easier to find.

What happened?

good luck,
Dave

I'm still not exactly sure what happened to cause the lowside - I wasn't touching any hard parts, I was on line, my body position was good, and I was settled in midcorner - making no corrections/inputs. I've concluded that I must've been carrying just a little too much speed thru there. Turn 10 at VIR has a slight crest right at the apex. I think I just came across the crest at max. lean and exceeded the limits of available traction. It was a very gentle transition from riding to sliding!

After two days taped up, I went & got xrays to find a broken scaphoid bone in my left wrist. This was not a result of the crash per se, but the tumbly aftermath. So now I've got hardware going in in 2 weeks, then 6-8 weeks to heal me & the bike before I'm cleared to ride.

Thanks for the offers & the eBay UK lead! I'll be in touch.
