On several separate occassions my '04 has been losing power and stuttering at low RPM, I saw it mostly around 3k rpm, usually after sustained running. It runs great otherwise. I've been running my Gerbing heated jacket a lot lately, but it has happened both with the jacket liner plugged in and without, so I doubt that has much to do with it. Any thoughts? I had a hi-mount cf can installed at local Triumph dealer along with, I believe, the correct tune. Any thoughts on cause/fixes? TIA
Fritz

First do a compression check on a warmed up motor.
What you describe sounds suspiciously like an overworked head gasket, gradually going south. Be sure, while your're at it, to look well at your oil circuit for tell-tale signs of water.
If compression checks good then plugs is next, first ensuring they are all torqued up properly. If this checks out , then, one cylinder at a time, left to right, change the existing plug for a new one with a good test drive run as you go. 1-2-3.
Start with this Cap't and see what it gives ya.

Thanks Tru! A friend of mine that works at the local Duc shop is going to check out the compression and plugs for me tomorrow.

Well, at this point it doesn't much matter. I went down today on some railroad tracks on my way to the Ducati dealer for the compression test. I'm fine other than a possible broken bird finger on my left hand, but the bike is now at I90 Motorsports in Issaquah waiting for an estimate. Cracked left case cover, passenger peg, rear spindle and nut, shift pedal, and left CRG mirror. Neither the tank nor the body work was touched (massive sigh of relief). I just hope it doesn't take too long to get it back, I freakin' LOVE that bike!
Triumph's crash really, really well.....

Hope you get her back quick.
With the stutter, I had the same symptoms with mine. In my case it was because I got too eager with the hose when I was cleaning her, and some water got in the ht lead. The strange thing is it doesn't seem to dry out by itself, I did 250 miles before I got out the WD40. I have had this with a couple of other bikes in the past too.
