S3 1050 - First Service (whats involved?)

just curious if any of you guys knew what was involved in the S3's first service? is it just a simple oil change and check up of the bike? or is there anything more in depth?

yup, hes right....
basically a $200 oil change...
which IS necessary, as you have a highly abrasive break in oil in there now to get the rings, etc, to seat properly...
going to change that out to the normal synthetic, check for loose whatevers,
and call it a day...
hell, i figured $200 was worth MY peace of mind at 150 mph....
worth every cent in my book...

if your going to change your oil yourself, get the correct size oil filter socket..... it helps

Well, yea basicaly an oil change. 200.00 sounds about right, on my bike I just bought the oil and filter and did it myself. Dealer charged me 75.00 for 4 qts of the Mobilone Triumph oil and filter.
Next time I will shop around for a cheaper solution.
How about the 12,000 mile scheduled maintenence. This is the one that I think the dealer needs to do and it is where they adjust or check the valves.
What kind of money are we talking about here? Should I start saving now?

Do it yerself. The dealer charges fer that service is a rip off too! I've only known one person that actually needed to adjust the valves at 12k miles, everyone else didn't need any adjustments. Check'n them is simple, if you have to make adjustments, it's not that bad, you just have to be careful not to screw yer timing up since you have to pull the cams. But I would definitely recommend doing it yerself, well worth the $$$ saved.
