Bike Wont start

Went to press the start button = nothing :shocker:
Turned it off and on trying until after a min it finally started. This just started (no pun) this weekend and has happened all most each time I went to to start ***!

Kill switch position. Check battery connections/condition. Any recent work where other connectors may have been disturbed or wire pinched?

Simple trouble shooting usually locates the problem.

Good luck.

Jimmy ... are you getting anything when you hit the starter button?
Any clicks from any relays?

My guess would be the path to earth for the starter ... (as it is most common)
so, next time it doesn't work, I'd check ...
Plug near headstock where the cable from the left handlebar plugs in... pull it apart/ clean /plug it back in
Also give this cable a wriggle about halfway up .. there's a crimp in there
Clutch switch

Is your neutral light on?
If not, this combined with your sidestand switch will knock it out...

turns out it was the switch to the clutch. When it happens I have to wiggle the clutch switch and then the start button works fine. Thanks for all the input but not that I know its that how do I keep it snug?

So the clutch switch was off and not sure how to keep it tight but I now have a new problem:
My bike has been starting like this:
crank, crank, crank, crank, crank, crank, crank, crank,cr ank, crank, crank, crank, crank, crank, crank, crank, i give up after 10 secs thinking I'm hurting the starter
then try again:
crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,cr ank,crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,crank, after 10 secs i give up again
then:
crank, crank, crank, crank, crank, crank (5 secs)- and then it barely fires and revs below 2k for a few secs.....then it comes to life.
Changed the tune to Wayne Macdonalds, with SAI and it seemed to help but then I went on a trip North into Pa and had a hell of a time starting it cold or hot. sometimes sounded like a metal wack! happended. Mostly it was hard starting after resting on the side of the road for about 10/15 mins. It is getting embarrasing and I feel like the bike is becomming unreliable

Lightbulb

Whens the last time you checked the plugs ? Mine didn't go. ripped the plugs out clean them up. fired first time. This is after i broke the plastic fuel fitting in the tank. Had to replace that. My bike fouls the plugs around town real quick. Good luck .
