Over the top

I know exactly what you are saying here in Australia. The sargent seat website will not send to here , you have to use their local distributor, Australian Motorcycle Components who want AUD$644. The sargent site lists it at US$359.95 which at the moment is AUD$400. AMC wants to make a lot of money on these seats which why I don't have one and still get a sore backside instead. Good luck in finding one.

Put a sheepskin cover on and/or wear cycling knicks on long rides.

I wear the knicks on anything over 450km rides. They turn 1000km day rides from painful to uncomfortable

Sheepskin cover is about AUD$130 knicks are about AUD$70. $200 Oz is about $140 USD - a lot better than USD$650

Gel seat

Forgot to mention, I found a gel seat on a used 06 S3 at a Townsville bike shop, sat on it, could not tell much difference myself, new price is approx. AUD$400.
I'm still thinking about what to do. Had my 06 S3 for 18 months and still not used to the seat.

Lee,
I was dead set on a new seat when I first got my speedy, but the stock one takes a bit of wearing in to get comfy. My ass doesn't start to hurt till over an hour now.

Question

Does anyone have any comment on whether the Triumph gel seat is any grippier (is that a word?) than the stock seat?

Cheers

Neil

The gel seat is grippier than the stock one. Different material.
