Anywhere to get a quick oil change on us 65 ?

I'm from Chicago and I'm going to be buying/riding a 1050 back from Nashville TN . I'm going to be rolling up us 65 , anyone know of a good shop I can stop at and get a quick oil change on the way ?

Dude, seriously....it would be WAY cheaper to pick up a plastic flat oil reservoir from a parts store for a few bucks, an oil filter and oil, and even the socket and wrench and change the oil right there in the parking lot and just leave the dirty oil/reservoir behind at the parts store(tell the kind behind the register he can have the oil reservoir) ....as opposed to paying someone to do it for you. Would take all of 10-15 minutes and cost less money.

I'm not very good with directions but castle powersports is just off of I-65 north of nashville. They are a Triumph dealership.

Well the guy I bought the bike from had the 500 miles service done but hadn't changed the oil since then . Even though the manufacturer says to change every 3000, I prefer every 1000 or so . So I wanted to get off to a new start with the bike .

It was actually purchased from castle powersports..however I was heading 500 miles in the oposite direction...

This is the most uncomfortable seat I have ever sat on . I had to stop every 40 miles just to stand up for a second , and now I have leather patches on my ass .

Did you purchace the bike from an ind. or the dealership? Castle powersports has a full service center for triumph if you got it there you could have had them do it.....You could have even talked them into a freebie since you were buying the bike there.

I see....well, get some ice on those leather patches and get a sargent seat or the gell seat from Triumph. That way you can go for more than 40 miles.

The oil change interval is actually 6000miles. Feel free to change it every 15minutes if ya like, but be aware that the first start after an oil/filter change causes the most wear on an engine. Overly frequent oil changes, like starting oil threads, is one of those things people do that accomplish nothing but make us feel better anyway...oops, I hope this doesn't turn into an oil thread!

Mate, are ya serious about stopping every 40 miles? I regularly run through 3 tankfulls in a day over 2 lane county roads without that kind of discomfort...the seat DID break in a bit after the first 1K or so... how many miles on it?

Wait 'til you get home and change it yourself

If you can confirm that the oil and filter were changed at 500 miles to a Triumph filter and semi-synthetic or full synthetic (not sure that you can do that at this point). If you have/can confirm that the 500 mile oil/filter change was made, I'd recommend making the ride home from Nashville to Chicago and switch oil/filter then.

I like early oil changes especially on a new bike, but if the initial change was made at 500 miles--you should be safe. After the initial oil/filter service, I tend to go to 2000 miles (Mobil 1 full synthetic and filter) before the next change and then 2500 miles (Mobil 1 full synthetic and filter) afterwards.

If you are above 500 miles and less than 1000 miles with an initial oil/filter change under your belt; you should be fine. Keep the revs varied, etc., etc., and dump the oil/filter when you get back to Chicago.
