2008 Speedy - Minor changes - Pics

So I went over to the dealer...seems like the break for next yrs model occurs in May/June. The next major upgrade isn't due until the 2009 line i.e. we'll be seeing them May/June 2008.

There are a few minor changes to the 2008 as far as I can see. The mirrors look a bit more oval, there's a new heatshield on the exhaust right by the upwards bend. No brembos or new wheels.

So you are saying the 2009's will be different and they will be released in may/june of 2008???? If so, have you heard anything about the changes

Like I said...this is what my dealer says. He's got the official Triumph store in Stockholm i.e. Triumphs flagship store in Sweden.

According to him 2009 will see a major upgrade in the Speedy.

Disclaimer
I take no responsibility for this info guys...I'm just forwarding what I've seen and heard at a Triumph dealership.

Sidenote: A scary piece of info is that I ran into another speedy owner in the store...his 2007 had just had major engine failure..the whole engine sounded like someone had chucked a bag of stones in there...the bike was completely unrideable I might add.

As far as I can tell from the pics, the mirrors are the same as they have been since late '06 and the heat shield has also been there since the '07 Keihin2 ECU bikes appeared.

So if that was all, the '08 is exactly as '07.

Well I might as well hold off till 09 as long as they are going to release it may/june of 08. Thats right when the weather gets great to ride heres anyways. I dont like to hold off, but I would at least like to get a glimpse on what im holding off from. The silence sucks

Its 07, not 08 yet

Whatever you ex-politicdealer says I am quite sure you have seen
the normal 07 model. There might be some minor changes for 08 but
I think major changes will appear together with the new and bigger 1100cc motor, maybe 09.
Someone agrees?

The heat shield came with the 07 model if I remember right. They moved the catalytic converter closer to the engine. It works best warm, and in order to meet the new emissions regulations thay had to move it closer to the engine so it can warm up faster and b more effective. Therefore the new heat shield is requierd.
