Hello everyone. I am new to this forum, and am considering buying a new s3, but I have some questions/concerns about the 2007 bikes I have looked at. I live in northern california, and all the bikes I have looked at don't have the metal tanks, half don't have the exhaust changes (the heatshields changed to ss and the new lower heatshield, and I am wondering if they have the newer ecu's from the daytona's.

Is there anyone in northern CA with a new speed triple that has the changes, especially the metal tank and the new ecu?

Mainly I am interested in the newer ecu, is there a surefire way to verify that a bike has the new ecu?

I know that they are basically trivial changes, I just want to make sure I am getting the most for my money. Any help would be appreciated....

I just went through the same thing, I think the ECU should sound like a fax machine 20 seconds after you turn it off on the 07. This thread should help.

Thanks alot, well I guess I will just try and get the s3 with the newest build date, in roulette green of course

The 07 also has a 7 in the VIN.
Here's my White 07's VIN - the 7 is in position 11 in Oz I think it may be in 10 in some countries SMTTE5805R7xxxxxx
