Question HELP !!!! Posting pix

OK, I give in, I need a lesson on posting images on the new version of the forum.
Is it because my pix are too big KB wise compared to the recommended sizes on the Manage Attachments Window (e.g bmp 19.5 KB, or jpg 97.5 kb etc.) that I only get thumb nails on the post?

If so, how does one reduce images KB wise down to the recommended sizes in order to get the full size image on?

Any help would be great.

And now a dumber question, are the smilies below the only ones available (I miss those little dudes), and how do you get them on at the end of a post or anywhere except the beginning by the title (and only one allowed it seems)??

The post will only show thumbnails because the file is an attachment, not an inserted image. If you click the thumbnail, it should open in the larger size.

If you need to shrink your pictures anyway, you'll need to do that ahead of time on your own computer, with software such as IRFANview or LView Pro or one of the bigtime image editing programs that can do image resizing.

Now, if you want to display a picture that is hosted elsewhere (the way we had to do it before) somewhere in the middle of your post, you'll want to host it on a photo server somewhere (as before) and use the vBulletin style of IMG tag, rather than an HTML style of IMG tag. Look near the bottom of this page where it ways "[ IMG ] Code is On" and click that link for an example of how to write the tag.

The answer to this one is also at the bottom of this page. See the link that says "Smilies are On"...just click it for the full list. Type the corresponding characters in your message wherever you want one to appear.

There presently aren't as many as before, but they're there.

How did you get your profile picture to show up on your post? My pic is on my profile but not below my name like yours.
Attached Images
File Type: jpg Untitled-1 copy.jpg (16.2 KB, 45 views)

I don't actually have a profile picture, as such. Those will only show up in your profile anyway.

The picture beside my name is called an avatar. There is an "Edit Avatar" option in the user control panel.

Used to be a selection of them at TriumphRAT.net itself, but now you can upload your own (no larger than 80X80 pixels). I'm using a 64X64 enlargement of the old black Tiger avatar formerly from this site, as that's the bike which inspired my username.
