Squidpipe and more - how I spent my track day money

Well, the band's been busy, meaning one-day weekends and no time for track days, but a fair bit of extra cash to blow on stupid stuff. So of course I did

I already had the Sargent seat, bar-ends, Pazzos and the TORs, and swore I'd stop there. Nope...

The full story, with lots of pictures and links to the now-somewhat-wealthier vendors, here:

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/fndrtele1/s3mods/

And no, I'm not done yet. Still need sliders and some different bars. Then I'll be done. Yeah. That's it. Just sliders and bars.

I just checked out your website. Nice job. Also, I just ordered the Gripster snake skin pads...They should pay you commission. Can you use the seat cowl with the Sargent?

Those little Frankenstein's Neck-lookin' bolts on the side of the Sargent seat are for the cowl. I just don't have one.

I swear - sliders and bars. That's it. No more after that. Because I can quit any time I want. Really. I can.

They're vinyl stripes, from Tapeworks.

http://www.tapeworks.com/Rimstripes/RimstripesHome.html

Most people seem to go for red or gold, and that would probably look better, but I figured the blue would match the shock spring. Mine are the reflective kind - since I took off the bicycle reflectors on the tail and forks, I thought it would be handy to have something that showed up from the side. They really light up, and with the otherwise black bike, it's a pretty cool effect.

I just purchased those snake skin tank protecors thanks to you! I like them! A little pricey.

Are they super permanant or are they easily peeled off? I just tore off a Pro-Grip pad because the top edge would never stay adhered in spite of getting rid of wax and cleaning the tank surface WELL.

I like how this new protector ( in your pix) just looks like a simple cut and pattern, no crazy designs and cuts and zig zags, etc.

Pricey? I dunno - $40 or whatever seemed pretty good to me for the set. They're supposed to be entirely removeable, no muss, no fuss, although I suspect that the longer you leave 'em on, the more likely you might have to use a little WD40 to coax some of the adhesive off the paint (just like for those idiot warning stickers with the li'l pictures that mean "don't try to fill the gas tank while bike is in motion and you are holding a lit cigarette.").

I had to skootch 'em around a bit when I put 'em on, to get 'em aligned right, and didn't have any problems, but it's been a couple o' months and I haven't had the urge to take 'em off.

I forget - what color is your bike? These would make one o' them white or yeller ones a lot less boring.

Mine's black like yours, that's why I liked them...I can see and get an idea. Good material quality?

I'm a little leary of covering the sides of the tank as I like the shiny natural surface. I'll see when I get it. maybe start off with just the front cover.

pricey, well kind of. I'm used to spending $20 for a Pro-Grip...but then again that's just for the fron pad/cover.

Thanks for the link...pad/cover looks nice. Did they ship fast and no problems with service?
