Leo Vince slip on

Installation was easy once I figured out the flaws in the installation instructions. Actually I thought they were worse so ended up cutting the supplied bracket and mounting it to a different spot. The actual installation would have worked simply and easily had I figured out their mistake in the diagram.
Anyway it popped right on and after the ecu download cleaned up all the popping on decell and ran stronger thru all revs.
I only put about 1000 miles on the bike prior to the new pipe, so I wouldn't say I really noticed any handling differences.

please explain ecu downloading/ mapping? what system did you use? where did you pull the program that you installed on ecu? leo said no additional mapping was needed. but it sounds like you noticed a difference with a new mapping of ecu.

i have wolf/trident high mounts and did the arrow high mount tune. No gurgling on decel anymore and its very strong throughout the revs. dealer put the map on for $45 (they just program it). Also they said dont do the TORS tune its pretty much worthless (unless you got the tors exhaust)

Your local Triumph dealer has 3 options for you: stock tune, high mount aftermarket (aka TORs) and the Arrows lowmount tune. They can install any of these on your bike for a few $, most likely the Arrow tune will be best match for a lowmount system.

The Arrows tune is a bit leaner, less grunt down low, more ignition advance, more power high up map. TORs map is richer fueling, not quite so agressive ignition advance tune. So TORs is safer in some sense, but you might end up running rich. Either should give you more power than stock map as these 2 are not made with emission standards in mind.

If you want to install some of the custom ECU tunes floating around the Triumph sites, you will need the TuneBoy cable + lisence for your bike. Full custom mapping of stock ECU is also possible with TuneBoy; no additional piggyback hardware needed on bike.

Leo Vince told me also that no ecu download would be necessary. It ran way too lean once the pipe was installed which explains the severe popping on decel. It took it to the Dealer and for 40 bucks they downloaded one of thier ecu settings (I assume it was the Arrow full system low mount) and it runs perfect now. Probably just lucky it was that simple with the Leo Vince. I've got a friend with the same bike but installed a Two Brothers high mount single slip-on and he had similar problems with some mild popping. The smell of his exhaust was strong also. He had them download once he heard my story and his runs better too now. They charged him 80 bucks (sucker) for some reason. I was told it would cost 25 bucks, but they worked on it for about 40 minutes or so so I feel it was a fair deal. The key is to tell them just to download and you will ride it to see if it's right. The time for them to take it for a test ride is chargeable. So save yourself a few bucks, you know your bike well enough to know if it's running well. If not, then have them run it and figure out if another map is necessary.
If you choose the Leo Vince SBK low mount. Let me know and I'll let you know how the install works using the parts supplied with the pipe. You may even figure it out on your own. Basically the spacers go on the outside of the frame, not the inside as shown.
Good luck, you shouldn't need it though.

^id guess nobody. Looks like they simply cut the exhaust right there, then put some angled tips on that you could get at any muffler shop

Yep - I never looked at the stock exhaust close enough. Same heatshield.

Well that solves that. It sounds good at least!

Is there a good reason why everyone isn't doing this? It looks awesome and I bet it sounds badass, not to mention its shaving like 30lbs off the bike... all for pennies. The most expensive part of this mod would be the map.

TGM do you have a video w/sound or just a .wav of what your bike sounds like?
