Hello...wonder if I might get some insight from some of you Arizona riders. I'm in Georgia and shipping my triumph (speed triple) to either Tucson or Phoenix in a couple of weeks, and then riding the west prior to riding home.

I'd like to ship directly to a competent Triumph Dealer and my preference is Tucson as I'd like to visit Saguaro National Park. I plan to have some basic maintenance done after the bike arrives. Can you recommend or comment on any Triumph dealers in you tucson or phoenix?

Thanks,

Barrie

I don't know anything about Tucson, but there are 3 Triumph dealers in the Phoenix metro area:

1) AZSBK in Chandler, AZ
2) Euro Motorsports in Scottsdale, AZ
3) Phoenix International Motorsports in Phoenix, AZ

A lot of the local Rat Packers like #3 (PIM). They are currently being sold/bought, but the buying company is really good. I bought my bike at #2 and know the owners. It's a pretty solid dealer that also carries Ducati and MV. AZSBK seems to be disliked by many around here, including me, so I won't recommend them.

The southern edge of Phoenix is only 100 miles from Tucson, so even if you ship here, you can get to Saguaro National Park in an hour and a half, straight down I-10.

I bought my bike in Phoenix - but I don't remember which delaer - they all sort of look alike from down here. And I wasn't real crazy about the service I recieved in Tucson - they charged my $70 just to load a tune. Sorry, not much help - I have my work done now in my own garage or at Doug Douglas in San Bernardino, CA.

But if you're riding around Southeastern AZ, you have to stop in Bisbee. If I'm in town I'll even buy the first round (maybe even two).

Thanks for your replies...I spoke with the Tucson dealer and the service guy basically acted like he couldn't be bothered (even though I planned to spend money on service AND they are part of a network).

Thus, as I should have, I went with your recommendations and found Phoenix International Motorsports to be fantastic. So...please support them by buying your next Triumph there if you're in Phoenix.

I love Triumph but some of their dealers are the pits...and I'll have a beer in Bisbee, thank you kindly.

I bought my S3 from the Tucson dealer - bike was fine, but when I got home the tank bag was damaged. They refused to replace it--claimed it was my fault. I strongly reccomend not giving them money.

I'm the AZ RAT Pack leader here in Phoenix and we deal with Phoenix International, which has new (and improved) owners. Give Dan a call a 602-864-1437, he's the service manager. He'll take care of you. He's kind of laid back so don't take that as not caring, he does. Tell him John sent you.

After you get here since your in Phoenix, take a ride to Tortilla Flats for lunch, it;s a nice ride

PS - You do know it's 114 degrees here?

Bought mine @ Performance in Tucson. Other than the purchase I can't vouch for them. I haven't been back since then.

Saguaro is a nice place to ride but there are better places like Catalina Hwy up Mt Lemmon and out to Arivaca and back. Best to ride early to avoid the heat!
