can anyone recommend good dual compound tires for the 06 S3? i commute 50 miles a day, but also go to the track for track days and canyon riding. does anyone have any good recommendations for a good dual compound tire. my rear gets squared off pretty quickly on the pilots.

I am running avons right now....They seem to be the best.....They set me up with a sport (VIPER) for the front and a sport touring (storm) for the rear. Great combo.....Excellent handling so far. They say I should get At leats 6k-8k out of them..... I just got 6k out of the stock Mich- pilot powesrs......and yes I do ride hard... I took the pilot powers and finished them off at the dragon....

Michelin makes one -I have it on my bike now and it performs very well. Rear only-
a Pilot Power 2CT .

The dual compound tires won't get better mileage just better cornering performance. As I understand, the middle is the normal compound and the outer strips are softer.

Try the Bridgestone BT21.. harder compound in the centre..

Did very well in test with S3..as a sport/tour tire..

I've just had a Michelin Pilot 2CT fitted to my rear (of my bike)! and as it's the sports tyre it's extra soft on the outside, but I think the Pilot Road 2 is less sporty and has a harder middle for extra mileage. Of course, I could be completely wrong!

Just watch the front doesn't lowside if you have the highest grip on the rear and really hurl it over.
