For an '07 S3.

If the tag says $9999...think I can get out of there with $9000 OUT THE DOOR? or less? or is that just not gonna happen?

Anyone with RECENT negotiations experience with Triumph dealers? Car sales are having bad quarters BIG time...so I figure bike sales can't be THAT good either.

Anyone RECENTLY buy an S3 and wanna share some of your negotiations stories/experiences? maybe even in Cali?

What's the sales tax in Cali? That has alot to do with yer OTD price. There's a place over here near the east coast that was selling brand new speedy's fer $8800 but that didn't include yer local sales tax. That's the cheapest I've heard of, so yer goal price of $9000 OTD seems a little far fetched even fer the cheapbastard. :hammer: :-D

Honestly, yer git'n a deal if ya pay full price. Speedy is worth it. However if ya can find a sweeeet deal on a 3 month old one with only 2k miles like I did, all the better. :-D

There's a local guy that I met in here that is selling a SWEEEET S3....a lot of nice mods. He won't sell just yet because he is upside down on his loand currently can't swing paying the differece. I'm trying to sway him...but losing patience and pretty much giving up. Screw it.

From what I've seen on prices, I think it would be done. Maybe not in CA, but in other places for sure.

I bought an '07 S3 last week...

$9000 OTD for a brand new Speedy, are you kidding or what!?
I got $9800 before the sales tax and registration fee, and I was happy with that price (no shipping, no prep fees) providing the other outrageous quotes I had in and around Manhattan.

Try to knock off shipping and preparation fees, and labor cost if you want parts to be installed on the bike, and if you succeed (good luck), be happy with it! Don't ask for too much. I mean, $9000 out the door, you're out of your mind!

From my experience, it's best to haggle over the after charges for freight/bike prep/setup/doc prep/rustproof & undercoat/floor mats/keys...all that other ancillary stuff they add on. A lot of that is gravy and may even represent sunk costs for them anyway. Plus also think about the color you want. I bought from a dealer that actually showed me how many green ones he had compared to relatively few whites ones and even fewer black ones. Lastly, it may also help you in negotiating if you have bought from them or used their service and parts departments in the past. If so, bring that up. The dealers that I know seem to have high turnover (maybe that's generally true of the motorcycle dealer) and it seems like I'm starting over every time.

I got my 06 for $7700+ tax ($500), but it was from an individual and it had about 5K on the clock. Great shape, just as if new ALMOST. But it was a steal!!!

Go for a used 06!

Dude i was born and rasied in brooklyn and all over the island. I knwo the price structure of ***** like that Mr. Manhatten. You're gonna pay out of your corn chute way more than what I would pay for here. I asked about $9000 OTD because a buddy of mine managed to squeak out with $9400 OTD from the same dealer months ago...so I wanted to try for $9k.

if you git a brand new speedy fer $9k OTD, you will be my new hero. $9400 OTD in Cali is a steal. :hammer: If I'm not mistaken sales tax is around 7-8% out there? That would put his price at less than $8800 fer the bike, which is a steal. You are asking fer a brand new speedy fer around $8400. :hammer:

Here in MD you pay MSRP or you buy used. Only way to get less is if you find a left over model from the year before and then you may get a few hundred off. Good luck man.
