Well, Lucas doesn't do the electrics anymore, but Lucifer does...bad keyswitch ( pretty sure ) left the 06 w/ no headlights & no starting...the key has to be EXACTLY placed for any of the other electrics to work. Hopefully, it's nothing more, I would HATE to lose that much riding time.
Good news is the dealer ordered a complete lockset without being prodded ( I know of @ least one car dealer who wouldn't replace door locks after replacing an ignition switch ) & a fresh Pilot Power will be on the back when I pick it up.
I actually was planning a Deals Gap- area trip on Monday, but the 9 shows between Weds & Sunday are liable to leave me in a less than travel ready state anyways...hopefully the electrical gremlins will not follow me off the Triple.

You have to replace the lockset in order to replace the ignition switch?

Just some info my 2005 S3 had to go in on a bad ignition switch as well, the way they packed the wires in there had a nasty kink from the factory and it wore through the wires right out of the key switch. luckily it was still under warranty and instead of fixing the wires I got a whole new ignition switch and locks. It happened to me on very regular riding (only vehicle every day) at about 12000 miles.

I am going to mount a zeaner diode under my head tube just to say speedy has lucus electronics. I spent so may years fighting and re-wiring the old bikes, I just expect it on the new one.

Only if U want to use the same key on your ignition as your seat...the ignition switch/key is an assbly, from what I can tell.
